From Cali to the Keys.
Summerland Builders is led by Mercedes Lozada — an architect who graduated from Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia, and now a Florida-licensed General Contractor — with more than four decades of design and construction experience, from high-rise towers in Cali to custom homes in the Upper Florida Keys.

A Seasoned Builder of the Keys.
Mercedes is an architect who graduated from Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia, where — as in much of Latin America — architects also lead construction. She has been designing and building for more than 40 years, from high-rise towers in Cali to ground-up custom homes in the Florida Keys. In the United States she practices as a Florida State Certified General Contractor with more than 20 years of licensed Florida construction (CGC1509536); on every Summerland project she partners with a Florida-licensed architect of record while bringing her own Degree in Architecture to design review, layout decisions, and construction. The result is a Summerland home where every detail is intentional, because Mercedes oversees every process personally.

Built by family, for families
Summerland is a mother-and-son team. Mercedes leads every project as the licensed General Contractor — the hand on every detail — and brings her Degree in Architecture to every drawing review before construction begins. Her son Andres runs the office as Administrative Director and is studying for his own Florida General Contractor's license — the next chapter of the firm. We build the way we live: carefully, patiently, with people we love nearby. Every Summerland home carries that intention into someone else's everyday life.
